I like making Holly sticks. Even though it presents many challenges including difficulty in retaining the bark, it is well worthwhile persevering with the species as the end result is invariably a stick with charm and character.
In every respect this is a fine example of a good Holly walking stick. The shank is a nice balance between shaved and unshaved sections with a warm brown hue with hints of green running through. Its proportions are 40″ long and 15.25 ounces in weight.
